This is a masterfully hand-carved decorative table lamp in the form of an architectural model of a mosque.

The piece is crafted from onyx, a type of translucent stone prized for its naturally occurring bands of color, which range here from pale white and cream to warm honey and deep orange.
The sculpture is composed of several distinct elements assembled on a square plinth. The main body is a rectangular block with an arched gateway at the front, through which the internal light source is visible. This base supports a smaller, second-tier structure, which is in turn crowned by a stylized dome. The composition is flanked by four vertical pillars reminiscent of minarets, and is further embellished with smaller, carved decorative forms.
Two small, red-backed plaques with Arabic calligraphy are affixed to the facade. The upper plaque bears the name “الله” (Allah). The lower plaque features the Quranic phrase “واقم الصلاة لذكرى” (Wa aqim as-salata li-dhikri), from Surah Taha (20:14), which translates to “and establish prayer for My remembrance”.
When illuminated from within, the lamp emits a soft, warm glow that accentuates the natural veining and coloration of the onyx. The item is in excellent vintage condition, with the electrical component fully functional. The piece is believed to be a mid-to-late 20th-century creation, likely originating from a region with a tradition of fine onyx and alabaster craftsmanship.
