Description of Components:

  • Dining Table & Chairs: The set includes one dining table with a carved apron and four tapered legs. It is accompanied by eight chairs, each designed with an oval back, fluted front legs, and striped fabric upholstery.
  • Sideboards (Buffets): The suite contains two distinct sideboards, each with a green marble top.
    • The primary sideboard is a long, rectangular case piece. Its facade is heavily ornamented with gilt-bronze mounts, including a central figural medallion, decorative beading, and lion’s head drawer pulls. It stands on tapered legs.
    • The second sideboard is a smaller case piece. It features similar gilt-bronze mounts and is distinguished by its four cast lion’s paw feet.
  • Mirror: A large, rectangular wall mirror with a wood and gilt-bronze frame designed to coordinate with the furniture pieces is also included.

The design of the suite is consistent with the late 18th-century Neoclassical style, characterized by its use of rectilinear forms, straight, tapered legs, and decorative motifs drawn from classical antiquity.
